What will I get out of Kaizen-Do Karate?

Having two boys of a rather timid nature, the comment of "I want to do karate" prompted more of a laugh than an indication to take this seriously. Sure enough, every time I offered to take them to a club the excuses would arise and I began to think it was best to treat it as a" throw away comment!" Then I met sensei Dervish and he told me about his club; Kaizen-Do Karate.

I was impressed by his amount of enthusiasm and he said it was fine to bring the boys at any time to observe his teaching style and see what they thought. Again, it took a whole two months to get the boys to go and only when I mentioned that I too would join did they decide to give it a go. On the day of the first lesson the usual apprehensions kicked in but they were extremely short lived.
Not only is everyone at Kaizen-Do-Karate very friendly and welcoming but the teaching style of sensei Dervish focuses on real encouragement. I have never known a man with as much patience!
The most amazing thing for me is to embrace how much we have progressed in such a short period of time. The boys have grown in confidence and are beginning to show real discipline.

I would  recommend Kaizen-Do-Karate to anybody.

After all if I can achieve this at 50 years old anybody can!

Having a son who has tried numerous activities including football, swimming etc, We decided on trying karate and after speaking with Sensei Dervish we enrolled Alex on to 2 lessons per week.

He still has a few teething problems but his attitude at home and school is getting a lot better. Hopefully with the encouragement of all at Kaizen-Do and at home we have finally found an activity that suits Alex's personality.

My son has been coming to the academy for the last few months and it has made a massive difference to him. My son is mildly autistic so mixing with others can be a problem from time to time. It has made a big improvement in his general behaviour especially in school.

Outstanding value for money, I would pay double.

The Academy's lessons are made interesting and actively involve all levels of ability; no one is made to feel out of place. From the beginning it is evident that all attempts are made to make each student know they can achieve whatever they set their mind to.
