The club was also nominated for 5 out of a total of 8 categories which shows that Kaizen-Do Karate is Highly Commended by Rochdale Council & Link 4 Life. The club was nominated for and just missed out on;
- Club of the Year
- Rising Star of the Year
- Unsung Hero of the Year
- Volunteer of the Year
Although the club did not win any of the titles it was extremely pleased to be nominated along with other high achieving clubs in the area. Anybody interested in enrolling into a Martial Arts Academy should look no further, if Kaizen-Do Karate can receive such recognition in their first every sports awards then the future looks extremely bright for Kaizen-Do.

Kaizen-Do Karate is the first & only Martial Arts club to achieve Springboard in the Rochdale Borough. Springboard is an accreditation awarded by Rochdale Council that ultimately shows the club has good infrastructure (both in coaching & administration) for offering excellent tuition across all ages groups. Although the criteria are too strenuous to write here it proves that we are a true centre of excellence.
Unlike other clubs that would probably be happy with this title we will continue to raise the bar in Martial Arts tuition.

Sensei Dervish, Chief Instructor of Kaizen-Do Karate was awarded the hugely prestigious title of Coach of the Year 2010 by Rochdale Council. Lots of clubs may say they are the best but the Sports Awards speak for themselves, Kaizen-Do Karate is an excellent club that offers the ultimate in tuition. No other Karate club instructor in Rochdale has achieved this title, proof that our Academy is the best in the area.
He received the award on Friday 9th July 2010 at the Rochdale Borough Sports Awards. Although this is the first time the club & Sensei Dervish have been nominated for any awards it was a PHENOMENAL success. Sensei Dervish will now go on to represent Rochdale in the Manchester Sports Awards later on in the year.
There are over 400 coaches in Rochdale, 180 were put forward and 10 were nominated, Sensei Dervish was extremely shocked & proud of winning such a title, he commented that 'there are some really good coaches in Rochdale but it just goes to show that Kaizen-Do is committed to coaching excellence'. 'It's a real honour to have all the work Kaizen-Do does recognised on such a professional stage, the club will continue to get bigger & better as time goes on'.
Kaizen-Do Karate is also 'Highly commended' see our News section to find out more.
